Geocaching Fun and Outdoor Learning for the Entire Family!

October 29, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Ever wondered about Geocaching? Noticed weird people searching your lawn or the park across the street? Wanted something fun to do when Grandchildren show up?

Geocaching may just be the ticket!  It is a treasure-hunt game played by millions of people around the world that gets people outdoors, is equally fun for all ages, and inspires a new way to look at the world around us.  You can play on vacation, at home, or even with friends – anywhere and anytime.

Longtime enthusiasts Balinda Strosnider, John Glitsos and Jeanne Harris will introduce you to the game at the Nature Center at 10 AM with a quick video presentation.  You should bring your smartphone to load the Geocaching App on it during the intro (it is FREE).  You will need a nick-name for yourself – John’s is GreekEagle and Balinda’s is PurplePaws.  Think of something fun, that kinda points to you (if someone knows you well).

After the presentation we will go out and Find a Geocache!  Bring a pencil, tweezers, gloves, and other small tools you might find useful.  We will find at least one, and if you want to get in your car and drive a few blocks, at least one more.

This event is FREE.
